Arctic is a multi-player fantasy role-playing game loosely based on TSR's Dragonlance novels. The base code for the game was gamma DikuMUD but it's been extensively modified over the course of fifteen years to provide a unique balance of realism and playability. - I'm planning to add paths to paladins soon, and I have already added lots
of new code to that end. If you notice anything strange with paladin
powers or with guildmasters behavior let me know asap.
- Righteous Indignation will now impose its faith cost when it expires,
instead of upon casting. Casting the spell while already affected by it
will renew its duration, but will stack the faith costs. In addition to
this, the spell will automatically expire when you rent or quit the game.
- Wizard eye will no longer function in clan strongholds other than your
own.
- Mages can use the dispel command to dispel antimagic shell.

- Unbalance has been reworked, its effects will now significantly decrease the victims' ability to defend themselves.
- Punch average damage has been lowered. On the other hand, punch may now floor unbalanced targets.
- Thieves can use fade with no arguments to leave a battle without leaving the room. Some penalties apply in special cases.
- A successful case will now benefit a thief's melee attacks against its victim for a few rounds.
- Stronghold inns are now nosummon. Clan members are no exception.
- Charmed mobs will no longer drop spell components when they die.
- Stronghold sofas will no longer disappear after a while.
- A bug with the duration of disorientation effects has been fixed (they lasted too long)

- Relocate, teleport, summon and recall in clan strongholds have been fixed and will now work properly.
- The stronghold blacksmith will now charge more to repair items.
- The bonus of stronghold alchemy lab to scribe and brew has been lowered. It is now equal to that of the lab available to all players who have completed the alchemy quest.

Tournament Announcement

There will be a Capture the Flag Style Tournament. All four teams will be for different major clans. Minor clans will be stuck with major clans as allies. Neutrals will be allowed to select the team they prefer, assuming there is an equal number of players per team. The tournament will be held this coming Sunday the 24 Feb 2008 at 12:00 PM system time.
