Well, the quest went off, not without a hitch or two. Thanks to all the players who participated, and to the immortals who helped out as well. Most thanks there goes to Noryl for doing all the creation work that I did not. I hope that everyone who entered had some fun, however I'm sure some didn't.
I realized after I started working on this quest that the premise was a bit lacking: 60 people get to do a little, then 10 people get to do a lot. Thats not great, as many people pointed out. However, at that point I figured, better some fun than no fun, and didn't feel like cancelling the quest just because the format was not the greatest. Everyone at LEAST got one item, and also everyone got something that I think is more important: they were forced to group and work with people they generally don't work with.
While I'm sure everyone wanted to be in the final group, this quest was not made to work like that, and in hindsight I would have done it differently. However, most of the people in the final group died at least 2 times, some more than that, and a few deleveld. They spent a good 2.5 hours in the final part of the quest, and were good spirited about it, even after the many deaths and long time committment.
So, whats for the future, or my next quest? Well, I hope to make something next time where at least 50% of the people who enter can partake in the entire quest, if not 100%. I will make it so their is not quite so big a time committment. I don't think another quest of this magnitude I will do for 3-4 months. However, look for smallish, short notice events at any time.
Any comments or criticisms(f-you Sancho can bet left aside) are welcome, as this was the first quest that I headed, I know it left a lot to be desired for some, but it can only get better if I get feedback.

Thanks for the great quest sancho, only wish I could have been in the final group.

Re:Quest Summary
The plan was for each of the 6 zones to load two new items +standard zone loads so at least 12 people would have gotten something nifty.
The rest in the 6 quest groups didn't get too much unfortunately besides exp/coins and a quest item. The quest items were useful utility in nature that were handy to have. Hopefully they had fun doing a zone with mobs that were a lot harder to fight. I'm know some people got to finish a zone they'd never be able to do on their own or with their own clan/order.
Those that went on for the final quest were slaughted a few times but we feel they made out on the plus side.

Re:Quest Summary
I'll just sink right in and post a few things... I had great fun and I didn't even get to really do much, I know there were quite a few deaths, but hey, you can't win them all :) Hopefully everybody gets at least a good chuckle out of these, and perhaps a deep thought or two during those wonderful chants/prayers/poems/songs! Thanks to Sancho for hosting, to the mortals for showing up, and to the other immortals for throwing in a helping hand and just being great.

Re:Quest Summary
This quest is well-planned and well thought out. I appreciate a lot of works Sancho put into it and fellow immortals took the time to run it.
The area I feel most dissapointed is the first part of the quest was planned in the old zones. While neutral players had a chance to visit zones they never have visited before. Many old players like me were upset about unable to join the part of the quest that most Sancho's work went into. Players I talked to were like "gee, I log on for 3 hours just do to a zone I usually did it for 30 minutes or less. I didn't get either of the two unique items."
I hope this area can be improved if we will have another quest. I recommend rather than select specific members, we can set obstacles to eliminate players. i.e players to reach solamnic outpost alived can continue the quest. If you die, you are out.....
At any rate, the quest was great, and people had a great time. Keep up
the good work.

Re:Quest Summary
I would like to thank sancho and all the immortals who put there time into this quest. I would like to see a lot more quests. I think it adds a lot to the fun of the game and lets small clans and none clanned players do zones and things that they could not normally also it gives them a chance to load some nice eq or spells. But i think quests are just as fun for players like me who has been playing for a long time because it gives you something new instead of just doing the same zones over and over. I know makeing quests like this is not easy so thanks again. It was a lot of fun even though i could not be in the main group. I would like to see quests more often. If the immortals have time for makeing quests im sure the players would enjoy doing quests.

By far, the funniest moment of the quest was when the final group decided they could walk on lava.
That didn't go over so well :(

Re:Quest Summary
For me, and probably for many other quest looked like this:
Sancho thought people can not form groups - so he decided to form us in random groups by his taste.
Also he thought people do not know where to zone - so he sent us into (regular) zones he chose.
And yea, plus something like 2 hours of idling in Solace in megaspam.
You might say stop bithching, he/they spent a lot of time and efforts into this quest, so i shoud say thanks for doing it. But imho try to do things good or dont do it at all.
One question: how many people could participate in this quest if we knew from announcement that it will be like it was - killing regular zone with random group.
Am i the only one who feels totally disapointed?
Do i sound like ungrateful bitch?
Sorry, i just cant say 'it was great, thank you for trying'
or anything like this, when i cant see anything but foregoing.
most good, some bad
(!) The quest was great fun. Especially the 2nd part. (!)
lol Grouping with enemies, old friends, and some unknowns was fun. At least it kept the unnecessary chatter to a minimum :)
:( 1st part was way too short and easy. There were fewer controled mobs, probably because the imms involved had to split up into 6 zones.
:( The start was way too long and spammy, perhaps only team leaders should be allowed in the briefing room, with the other team members waiting elsewhere or running preps.
lol Well thought out 2nd part, lots of imms helping (or just idly watching), controled mobs are so much more fun than regular mobs.
:( 2nd part took too long, especially due to all the deaths and regrouping.
:( The people who didnt participate in the 2nd part, should have been given some way to watch the ending of the quest, at least through an updated log on the website.
Re:Quest Summary
any chance someone could post the plotline of the quest just so the rest of use could enjoy it as well? from the bits and pieces i picked up, it sounds incredibly interesting.
i'm quite curious as to what was different in the 6 regular zones and how they integrate with the final portion of the quest.
Funny Part
One interesting part was us trying to kill the good aligned golem in Forgotten Temple with a group which was composed, among others, by 5 paladins.

-I organized you into groups for two reasons: 1) I wanted people to be FORCED to group with people they never had before, thus making new contacts. 2) If I had let you pick your own groups, we would have never started the quest. As you could see, it took me over 30 minutes to arrange groups due to no_shows, late participants, etc. and that was after I had already pre-arranged all groups.
-Yes, I did choose the zones I sent you into, very purposefully. Each group was made with alignment and overall group strength in mind, and thus their assigned zone was such to match.
-Blame the Solace idling and spam mostly on your fellow player. I didn't cause people to not show up, I didn't cause people to be late, I didn't cause people to spam you.
I'd just point out that no one forced you to sign up. I never made a guarantee about what the quest was going to be or wasn't going to be. I made an effort to have a fun quest that could involve a lot of people in at least some fashion. Yeah, there were lacking parts in the quest, I already said that above. Yeah I asked for criticism, but "your quest sucked" does nothing to help things. The best posts are those that point out a problem and offer a solution. I did give the players in the quest a chance to "earn" their way to the final group by letting each group nominate one player. Perhaps you weren't nominated because you group didn't think you performed very well, but who knows.

Hehe, have you ever done Flying Citadel Before Sancho? Its not a 10man zone :P
Re:Quest Summary
Making groups of 10 is just asking for trouble. Of course not everyone is going to show up. Maybe if the groups were posted earlier and a leader was appointed, they coulda got the group communicating before the tourney.
Player vs Player tourney next time! I loved the draft thing last wipe.

Re:Quest Summary
Ok - on one hand sure the quest was nothin new for me - did ToT..got an ok item..not really worth waking up at 4:30am for you could say.
However on the other hand I found it really cool doing a relatively high zone with 9 nonclanned people. Youmay think its nothing exciting, but as you zone with clannies for years you learn to trust them and you know how each will react in different circumstances..usualy I just sit back and do my bit without any major thought. However being put into a zone with 9 strangers really woke me up..here i was in a spammy fight wodnering, is the maintank gonna recall as soon as he hits awful, or will he trust the healer. Will the healer typo and miss me with a heal and send me to my doom? Will the other tanks rescue or just flee newbily? I guess when the druid died within 30 seconds of entering zone, trying to open gate after forgeting a kword, I started to think 'Ok..pay attention..this wont be your normal cruise through a zone:)' - definitely something I enjoyed and a nice change
My highlight?
After recalling from spammy Spauld+friends fight in a wrong room, Immortal decided to summon us back in to save time...Unfortunately poor cleric was spamming directions as he got summoned and walked straight back into the mobs...RIP!..too funny:)
QuickQuestion: (probably cant/wont answer..) Are the 2 special items that load in the zone 'more than meets the eye'? Or do I have a +1stat item that really costs 5.5k unworn?:P

I feel the item is kind of special. The item was a bit buggy but should be fixed - so eventually you'll lore it to find 2 affects on it (but only lore when its worn *hint*)
