Capture The Flag

A capture the flag style arena has been setup recently.

Some of you have gotten to participate. This is a listing of some of the features of the arena, and a space in which I welcome suggestions as to try to make it better.

Capture The Flag

You will be summoned to a team start room. Going down in that room will put you in your team flag room and give you an aura.
It costs 1500 coins to enter the arena. For each death in the arena 1000 coins will load. Playing well gives you the opportunity to
make money; playing poorly gives you the opportunity to lose it.

Your team gains 1 pt for each kill of an enemy on your side.
Your team loses 2 pts for each death of a teammate on your side.
Your team gains 10 pts for capturing the flag.

When inside you can check the status of all team flags by typing "flag info".

When inside you can use your "team healer" a mob standing atop your castle to heal, get food, and refresh. Listen to the mob for details.

When your flag is safe, the closer to your flag you are the better bonus you will have as you try to defend it. If you leave your team
area you will have no bonus. You never receive negative affects from other teams.

When you die you will find yourself in a death room, where you can regen peacefully, recall, and/or continue playing by exiting in
the direction of your team. You are unable to exit in the direction of another team. Currently, switching teams is not possible.
We may make it possible to switch teams at a cost of 5000 coins later, feel free to discuss the possibility here. Furthermore, you will be effected with a death affect lasting about 7 tics. If you die again in this time, the effect will stack. You are forewarned.

A shopkeeper is available who sells milkies, rem poisons, and some standard weapons in the death room.

i think your original idea

i think your original idea of having no grouping allowed is great and causes much more coordination than just following one person mindlessly. however, it just required coordination that was beyond capable. having group size limited to 3 or even 2 would be great fun instead of a 10 man group being formed.

the ability to differentiate teammates from enemies was far too difficult. if you had affects such as sanctuary or iceshield it was literally impossible to do so. perhaps changing player's title temporarily to reflect their team would help.

thieves should not be able to sneak/hide when in possession of a flag. all status affects should be removed when in possession of a flag, for instance, haste.

dying should eliminate all status affects, both positive and negative.

maybe expand the arena to be a bit bigger with various other mobs or room specials. having the guardians bash would be neat. they were more of a nuisance if anything that people just fled from.

increasing the # of colored teams would be great. for instance, 4 colored teams each with 8 players with 2 man groups.

the lag after capturing a flag is just right if not even a bit short. don't let others convince you into decreasing lag time! usually once you're free of the lag, it was almost a guarantee that you could return the flag back to your base.

Death effect is great. When

Death effect is great. When you leave the arena and enter the 'arctic' world again, make dispell all effects. Make the death effect go so that if a player needs to leave the arena fast to help a clan mate, or zone or what not, it dosn't make the char useless.

Man, they aint going to be bitching about the kw's for a while now are they.... Nice work man, i can't wait to go mess with this.

Just a quick tip.

To remove all arena affects, once you recall. Rent and hit 0 (completely log out) and relog. All death affects and team affects will be dismantled through this technique.
