For those who have read the News in game, there will be a quest run (hopefully) in the next couple of days. To sign up, be high level, and head to the Tower of Wayreth and find the board, you should know it when you see it. When we feel ready to start, those who have signed up on the board and are online at the time will be given first priority to the group that is formed, the group will be put together by immortals, at least for the first run, so this will not be a one clan thing. Signing up does not necessarily get you into the group. As of the time I am writing this there are ten people signed up already, but we have to put together a group diverse enough to (try to) finish the quest. It will be hard, you will die, you might not (and likely will not) complete the entire thing, or find everything there is to be found.
The theme has not yet been revealed, although there are some hints and changes in the game over the last few days that may give an idea as to what it is.
To answer some questions that people have been asking, please read them:
This is intended to be run more than once, maybe continually throughout the wipe. There is no set timetable at the moment for when, or how often it will be opened. When it is decided, it will be announced here and in the game. As of writing, we still haven't decided on when to do the initial run, though it will likely be as soon as possible (within the next few days).
You will be watched by immortals but the intervention will be minimal, only if absolutely necessary. If you die, you will lose exp, and you may lose equipment. We will probably retrieve sheafs for you to avoid any permanent problems. I imagine if things get out of control you will be helped with CR's, but there's no guarantee you will walk out in better shape than you walked in. You may be given some small amount of prep items to start out with, and will be free to bring whatever you want, though some are already spread out through the quest.
People (characters) who are actually in the group will be priority as far as splitting the rewards, you don't get to hold onto something for a friend just because you had the fastest loot triggers.
The quest will comprise of some existing areas, and some new. Since it will take place partly in existing zones, when it comes time to enter them, people who are not taking part in the quest will be asked to stay away from these places, please respect this. The way things are set up, I think it should be a minimal inconvenience. The zones that it will enter may be flushed out/blocked off when the time comes, apologies if this affects you at the time but it is necessary.
Playerkilling will likely not be restricted game-wide, though the questing group will absolutely be off limits, they will not be allowed to attack or be attacked by anybody for any reason. We will probably have the group mark themselves with a group name of QUEST or something of the like to avoid any confusion, you can see group names in the who list or type 'who group QUEST' to list names of those who are in it.
Dark Knights and Paladins shouldn't need to worry, no mobs involved will be good aligned, and absolutely none will be holy (status loss mobs). There may be good aligned mobs in the existing zones that the quest will enter, however none of these will be necessary to kill. It will be up to the questing group on how to deal with them.
Most importantly: this is meant to be fun, it isn't intended to ruin your day but is meant to give a unique experience and be extremely challenging. We hope that the rewards will be worth the trip, but don't expect to be walking out with items and spells that will make you invincible.

continued...
So far, I think the best way for subsequent runs will be similar to how Adepali's quest was set up. This would mean people will choose their own groups, and choose a day and time for themselves, then seek a high level immortal for approval/coordination. And again, there is no set timeframe with this at the moment, it may take place soon after the first run or not for quite a while.
Once you begin, you should have as much time as you need to attempt it. The zones involved will not reset on their own, so you won't have to worry about 'holding' them.
Anybody is welcome to sign up, though the initial group will probably be chosen from those who we believe are physically capable (some ranks, decent equipment). People can leave the group as they wish, but pressuring anybody to do so when they don't want to will get yourself kicked instead. If somebody leaves, we will choose a replacement for you.
The rewards are like any other item in the game, some may not be identifyable and it will be difficult to figure out what it does, and each run will reveal different things loading. Do not ask for the stats from an immortal, if you can not identify it, that is the way it was meant to be. And although the rewards have all been gone over already, there is always a small possibility that some may be changed after being loaded.
Very importantly: do NOT try to steal from your groupmates. If you are set to loot corpses, you had better keep track of whos corpse you are looting and which items are not yours. If this becomes problematic, anybody doing so will be removed from the group and possibly barred from taking part in future runs. I will most likely take down everybody's equipment when the quest starts to keep an eye on this, so don't think of trying it.
This is a somewhat spur of the moment thing, so direct questions in game to Rhak or Terk right now, because most others won't know what you are talking about.
Any suggestions or general questions are welcome.
What is the thinking with making no_lore equipment?
Quest sounds fun, hope to hear about how the first group gets totally slaughtered and then the fights get scaled back to reasonable :)
no_lore & followup
Equipment here just had to keep to the same type of standard as normal stuff, certain types are generally nolore, but everything that is will definitely be worth hanging onto.
Incase anyone missed, we tried it once today. I had to go out so I missed out on what happened but from the gist of it the group did make some progress. There will probably be some tweaks before the next run, and I don't know exactly when that will be yet.
For those who were in the group, just try not to spoil it for others too much just yet :P
