Feel free to move this to the correct spot on the forums, but I didn't find anywhere more suitable!
The past few weeks I have been unable to connect to Arctic, at all. The "Arctic" banner and character name entry comes up, but when I try to enter anything in (character name or 'start'), it just skips down to the next line and freezes. I have tried it through the applet on Windows, Ubuntu-Linux, and Mac OS, and through telnet/MUD client on Windows and Linux. I'm not sure what might be doing this...any help would be appreciated, as I'd really like to play.

Have you tried checking your firewall. Also, you need to make sure you're connecting via the DNS name and not the IP address as the IP address can change.

In Linux, I have no firewall/anything currently up. In Windows, I use Norton, which I entirely disabled momentarily, to test, on several occasions. I attempted to connect via "mud.arctic.org" each time.

If nothing else works, try to connect thru http-tunnel (www.http-tunnel.com). While not a perfect solution to play the game, it may help you identify the reason(s) of your problem.
