It was easier to read forum posts before, but I think you probably will have alot more flexibility in this format.

Far too sterile. The old site had some fantasy feeling to it. This looks like a Comp Sci project, very technical, but not much else.
I preferred the old forums, easier to read the posts, and easier to see when there was a new one.

I'll readily admit it looks pretty sterile. This is a generic layout, for all intents and purposes. Getting all the bells and whistles of a "fantasy" themed site is something I would need help with. Unfortunately, it's not a matter of slapping down some copyrighted dragonlance jpg and calling it a day. I'd have to rewrite/recreate a skin for the site based off of this one, which will take time. If there are any artists out there who are willing to lend a hand, you know how to get in touch.

I like how it now tells you when the last post of a forum was in easy terms, rather than a date. Also, as mentioned, some of the layouts could use some tweaks, but they're minor.

I noticed that a 'recent post' search now lists pages (which I assume are the helpfile pages being brought online one-by-one). I guess once they're all up we won't get huge lists of new pages, but in the meantime, is it possible to focus our searches just on new forums posts and not new pages?

On the subject of pages, I noticed that we can comment on them. So, for example, if some luser dies because of lag, there's a good chance he (and his buddies) will all post comments on the Lag page whining about how they died and lost all their eq etc etc. And when you extend this to other pages (rejected imm apps posting on the immortal application page, class weaknesses on the class pages, etc etc) is comments on the helpfiles really necessary?

One last thing - when posting, the old forum's "topic review" which showed the past posts in reverse order, was very helpful for double-checking facts, and grabbing quotes etc. Does this new forum have such functionality?

These are my first impressions, as noted above, we're probably just not used to this layout.

I'll have to agree with this. I do a lot of web design and I may have some time to create a fresh skin for the page, but I'd need access to the current one.

Is the logo prepackaged, or did you create that?

While I was going to try and modify this one myself, I would be happy if you have a lot of experience with the thing and were willing to put in the work. I am, however, a big fan of minimalist interfaces with as few blinking, flashing, or photoshopped crap. The faster the page loads the better, but there is certainly a clear need for uh SOMETHING.

I'm not a fan of flashy garbage on websites either. I'll see if I can't throw together a couple simple logo designs or top-bar images. Or perhaps a logo design contest is in order?

why the hell do you need an enormous CMS like Drupal to run the site, besides to implement tons of cool feautres u cant use plain old php, you have to use drupal code which is extremely annoying, bad call all around, and change the damned default skin

This skin is absolutely painful and a mouthful of apeshit (yum yum). At least give us the ability to pick a new one.

I love that I can look at this at work and people think I'm doing something serious. Great skin.

I didn't like the new board at first, but it's really grown on me after a bit of use. I love the active forum topics link and the vote button makes it pretty simple to do that everytime we connect. Overall, nice improvement IMO.

I like how when you reply to somebodies post, it inserts your reply directly after theirs. Also, the Active forum topics menu is excellent. For someone like me who checks this site like 10 times while I'm "working", I find it to be less time-consuming if I already know what topics are in use.

Could use some color though, any good pictures uploaded for the title bar yet?

The more I use it, the more I like it.

The more visual location of the vote buttons has seen our rankings on the mud connections sites rise.

Overall, the new site seems to have rejuvenated other peoples desires and interest to better improve the game.
