Permanent HP and move loss?

Not sure if it's a bug or intentional but after using a certain drug (powder in bag) two things happened: I received a nice affect and lost some HP and MV. One would expect all those to wear off later together with the affect but it didn't happen. I started with 290 max HP and after testing this powder two times I am now left with 220 and it doesn't look like it will ever be restored, maybe when reaching next level but that's a bit far away.

Before:
You have 290(290) hit and 126(126) movement points.
After:
You have 220(220) hit and 95(95) movement points.

Removed all armor, dropped all items, no affects on char, even died once and it still remained that way.

There is no item in the game that can permanently lower your hp when you are naked. There are certain spells and side effects from such items that can temporarily lower your hp. Sometimes the effects can last quite a long time.

Shouldn't a death clear the flag?

Yeah I think that would make sense. Several game weeks have passed since then and my points still didn't restore. So for now I'm just idling in the game, maybe it just needs more time to wear?

Re: Hp lost

The more times you used or stacked the effect, the longer you have to wait for it to wear off.

I don't know exactly how long, but I know it seems like a very long time, 10+ real hours comes to mind for a single usage.

I'm sure the more erudite of the mud population can give you a more exact analysis.

Send me a private message with your character name included, I will be more than happy to look into this issue for you.

Re:Permanent HP and move loss?

Well my points are back to normal, thanks to everyone for enlightening me. It took quite a while though and it was a bit annoying that there was no message in score or anywhere indicating that something was wrong with my health. Potions of knowledge didn't show anything, however didn't try loring scroll.

Re:Permanent HP and move loss?

Even though this particular case may not have been a bug, it is definately strange that the negative effect flag remains after death. I know why this effect occured but I'm curious if its intentional for it to stay after death because it seems a bit ridiculous.

I've been exploring around palanthas and i've had a similar thing happen to me. Do I just wait it out?

Basically:

lev 20: 324 hps
lev 20.5: 307 hps
lev 21: 323 hps...

it also lowered my moves and lowered my hps regen when bandaged

also, when i wear/remove +2 hit gear, i only get +1.. i don't know what that's about...

never mind, i'm told this is the 'haste' flag :)
