not sure if they enjoy it, but clerics and minotaurs always end up being the portable-food-stores as far as i can see, needing food/water for themselves, and expected to have extra for groupies

Giving Dks some sort of ability similiar to summon elixr wouldn't be that bad, but maybe you'd have to use it on the corpse of a good-aligned creature.[/color]

DK spell, 1st Circle
cast 'summon blood' target
vial lasts in inventory (out of larger container) for Level/3 tics

(after doing an align check on the mob/player's corpse, and passing)
You focus your unholy energies on the corpse of (mob/player name) and smile as Takhisis bestows an enchanted vial of their blood in your possession, to give you strength in furthering Her cause.

I believe the spell should work on Lawful Neutral through Lawful Good, and fail on Neutral Evil thru Lawful Evil.

You would get stackable vials in inventory, which would be SELF_DESTRUCT (when emptied or dropped) ANTI_GOOD ANTI_NEUTRAL but no class restriction, and like elixirs, when poured into a larger container, anyone could use, as a combined food/water source.

Another possibility would be to make the spell circle 2, and have a random effect when you drink it, det_invis, bless, strength, etc, which would last until (a) you drink blood again or (b) you get thirsty/hungry again.

I think I'd rather just get rid of hunger and thirst than give dks a spell like this. If they had their own sustenance spell then hunger and thirst would be a mage/warrior/thief only affliction. Hell, most warriors don't even carry around food and water, they just make the cleric in the group provide for them.

Anyway as for the spell... If it's only going to work on corpses it better have bonuses beyond just sustenance, since paladins get the same spell with no restriction on casting. Also, a spell that makes you hungry/thirsty if you fail is a bad idea. That would just be really, really annoying and would make the spell pointless- you'd have to carry around food/water or sacks already full of blood in case you fail. I'd hate anything that can make me hungry/thirsty, hunger and thirst are the most annoying part of the game!

Anyways agree 100%.

Also if your talking about blood that is already in the game it isn't as good as the silver elixer so that would have to be a new liquid. Blood as it is seems to quench very little thirst and fill you up food wise.

(1) as a dk, dont kill evil mobs
(2) dont try to get blood from evil mob's corpses

how hard is that?

u can cast any area, and pally/mage/dk charmies are hurt/destroyed, because the game doesnt consider them part of the group
You can also dispel the wrong alignment, and nuke yourself
thats annoying, but is built into current spells we have
...

paladins should get the spell "wrath of god" it kills everything in the room even the player casting it,,,and it costs 1 white mana and 3 mana of any color to cast. :)
