How far in advance should we announce the new wipe?

I can't fathom why anyone would only want to be told 45 minutes in advance that the game is player wiping. Half of you probably wouldn't notice the post until someone was already level 20.

If we're warned a month in advance, it means there's still at least a month until it wipes.
If we're warned two weeks in advance, it means there's still at least two weeks until it wipes.

If we're sticking to a 45 minute warning, it could happen tonight.

In general I have to request vacation one month in advance. I vote one month and 58 seconds.

I think some people equated "how much notice should there be?" with "how soon do you want it to wipe?"

maybe, maybe not.  I voted 45 minutes because spontaniety is the best way to discourage planned abuse and botthattery.  If I finally miss a wipe after x years great!  I'm dedicated to studying and might miss out on my rolling group =( but at least it'll hit some people off guard.  Giving time to prep scripts is sorta gaylohrdsex bass fish face.

Anyways back to studying I think.  Although I'm slightly tempted to log on tonight while I'm working my job 2 week notice to go into full study mode.

I agree that 45 minutes would be crazy and a lot of fun, but for the overall turnout and good of the game, I think there should be a decent lead time.  People like the wipe as a fresh start, and if they got the notification of the wipe, for example, 20 hours late, they may think Oh, I'm already behind again, no point in playing.

1 month is too long for this wipe! it has been peaceful and weve all had our time to explore, 45 mins would be pretty awesome. but 2 weeks seems just about the right amount of time to say goodbye to our toons and smash eachother for a bit.
