I think it will be the barb or the dk that goes.
In terms of the trinity (tank, heal, dps), it seems that we have room for 3 specialists and 6 major/minor guilds

major healing: cleric (pure), shaman (minor tank), druid (minor dps)
major dps: thief (minor tank), scout (minor healing?), mage (pure dps)
major tank: warrior (pure), paladin (minor healing), barb/dk (minor dps)

with 3 healers, 3 dps, and 4 tanks, I think one of the tanks will be going away.

To the original question:

Yes, we will let you know ahead of time.  Right now is too early because of decisions still to be made.

Thanks Aristox,

I'm sure one way or the other that it won't be pleasant, but it will be a great help to know in advance.

personally I feel that if shamans are removed, healing wave should replace useless healing mist for cleric 8th slot.

Theres probably some other spells that are really great that shamans have that could be split between clerics and druids.. especially if the immortals want to buff clerics\druids. Give clerics regen\wave\last chance (regen to 7th slot, wave to 8th slot, last chance to 5th). Druids could get the full resist spectrum for their resist spell, that other spell that increases health, maybe ritual voyage instead of summon.

Maybe give clerics frenzy and better hitroll so they can melee as well? Maybe then people would enjoy playing a cleric instead of using bot healers (oh I know, none of you guys use bot healers ha ha).

Weird I kinda like healing mist.

If the big group move fast enough through the zone, you can keep the whole group in perfect health all the time just casting 2 to 3 mist. One cast covers 7 rooms. Not a bad deal at all.

It doesn't matter if the mists heal the mobs, cos usually the damage from the group are concentrated to single mob and getting 20/40 hp per round is nothing.

Healing wave though doesn't follow and breaks if shaman flees from room. So you have to fight with mem time whenever you use it. More choppy zoning.

If any classes should be removed it should be:

1. Thief - give pick/disable to scouts and be done with them.  They are neither the best solo class and one of the worst group classes.

2. Cleric - nobody likes playing this class except when botting

Make it so!

Given that 2-3 characters without external support can
1. reach level 28 reasonably quickly and reliably
2. pop tattered prayerbooks and frosted books (maybe even ivory staff and ivory spined)
3. pop 2-4 +dam, 2-4 +heals, 20-40 hit points
4. pop 3d6 +/+ prime and 3d5 +/+ offie
5. complete crown and lily quests, pop impunity
6. defeat swallow instinct mob

later quote from another thread... but I can do all that they say a 2-3 man group can do there solo with my thief.. and much much more... tomes, ivories, timeworn... I have solo'd bmobs so golden as well.

I would wager a lot that a well played legend thief IS the best solo class in game.

I'd also wager you had external support when doing your legend mob. I also know that having a bot healer makes "soloing" irda trio and stuff with a thief an order of magnitude easier, safer, and faster.

if by bot you mean <BoT> .. yeah sure Seb has waited in the wings healing for me before, but I can do it without him with a couple pots it just takes longer.  I have never botted -until trying it for a day recently .. and I did not care for it.

Yeah I have had outside assistance on my legend quest every wipe... without being legend getting past stabber and such would be too much risk.  Doesn't change my assertion that Legend thief is the best solo class... so unsure what your point was.

Thief: Legend thieves would totally disagree with you. So my guess is you've never had a legend thief before. If anything else, when there is no one to group with end of wipe, thieves are one of the best classes to actually zone solo.

Cleric: I played legend clerics over 3 wipes. It was one of the funner class if you know how to play them.
Gate: Allows you to have multi class ability. Shiroc area, Xia area/resist, Acadia double X, Aspasia lay in no magic
Animate: Corpses are good tanks and powerful melee. Arm them with a wb and a good 2 hander and watch them rock.
Rapture and ameliorate: Obliterate standing, mem during battle, mass cure crit

So, in short, I heal, I area, I melee, I mem while melee, I refresh (cleric only wand).

I wouldn't go into some secret stuff you can do, but definitely boring it is not for a main class.

I do agree when you are not a leader, your job as a healer is just to watch group hp and do nothing else. And it is a very unfair class to legend. Without a backup of a big clan, there is very little hope of getting it to legend due to spell load.
