Rangers were a great hybrid to warriors and paladins. They could hide, sneak, cast spells like barkskin, Thorn spray, wild blood, sustenance, temporal path. They could bash, dual wield or use a bow which had a cool mechanic where you would actually be assisting in combat but you could attack anywhere from 1-3 times(and up to 5 if hasted but that got changed). They could track rescue and parry as well. It was just a cool class to mix things up, paladins used to have bash and hold person, bestow life. Now we have just warriors bashing and that's almost always what they do. It's a very one dimensional class.
If scouts could be molded into warriors, bring back the shoot skill, keeping clap, fade, hunt and having their old spells back it would be a good alternative to warriors. The only thing they were really missing was an ability to use during combat (besides trying to bo bash) it would be a pretty fun class to play again.
