Skill timer

Wondering if we can take a look at skill timers again. If you think its a must have then could we add some type of timer? Like something that shows up in your score? I am finding that after grinding just 3 reincarnates and skilling after... It's so much. So much grind. Sure skills level up a bit faster after you do it once, but you still get hit with the big bapt YOU timer at like vgood.

While I 100% disagree with the skill timers(I don't think they should be a thing, but I think there has to be some kind of timelock to them) I do agree that there should be some type of indicator on when a skill is 'ready' to get an enlighten past (very good). It's too much of a hassle to try and track when you got an enlighten on a certain skill and when you can actually train on that again when multiple skills are being trained at any given time.

I would be totally fine with "You feel that you are ready to train bash again" "After some rest, your skill in meditate is ready to train" or something similar to that.

It is my understanding that the cooldown works by a "penalty" that slowly goes away over time. So if the message shows up when the penalty disappears, it is possible someone could train before they receive the message.  If this happened, it might create confusion.

as far as i can tell the "cooldown at verygood" doesnt get mitigated noticeably by having trained the skill before reincarnation.

Would these "skill timer issues" still be important if they werent required for legendary?  On the reincarnates where I do not plan to legend, I just happily ignore skills.  One of my favorite parts of reincarnation...  there is no reason to dedicate time specifically for skilling.

Once you reincarnate skills should return to previous highest level (never passing the level max, of course, we don't need superb bashing level 3's) without having to go to a guild. If you superb a skill it should return to superb without additional practice once you hit the level where superb is available. No one wants to have to stand naked in Solace square for 4 hours training hide more than once per wipe.

Now that I say that, I can think of several players that would gladly stand around naked...and they don't even play thieves!

There are far better and more efficient tricks for timering hide ffrom awful within 15 minutes.  People who idle in the square for it just aren't doing it right.

There really doesn't need to be a timelock though.  At least not like we see at v.good and above.  It's fine to have learn rate like we see from v.poor to v.good (since awful to v.poor goes super fast) but the timers we have right now actively punish people for being able to level quickly.  I understand that reincarnations get a learn bonus based on prior skill levels but when you're sitting with a bunch of +int/wis/learn on a character and waiting over an hour per learn on an ability you had at good or v.good on a prior reincarnation (mend and sharpen come to mind) is awful.

Arctic has taught me that the best way to avoid attracting attention is to strip naked, put my clothes in a chest, and haul my ass and the chest into the centre of a city.

Seriously, though, once you hit superb you should be able to reincarnate and get back to superb without skills cooldown - you have already done your time once, what value does it bring to have to do it a 2nd or 3rd time?
