Remove shoot skill from Mountain and Ocean scouts

It's beyond useless and serves no purpose other than to grind so let's get rid of it for those two paths. Maybe add in a skill to replace, or give the Sky's something to balance it out (though a Sky's only use is to have shoot so ....)

i think part of the problem is that all scout paths have the same skills

The class in general suffers from trying to make tank, melee, and ranged roles share a common core.


Shoot would be fine on more mountains if they could use instincts and not engage. Thrash + shoot might be a bit silly though. I’m all for making Shoot a sky-only skill and having a skill unqiue to mountains and oceans based on their roles. Make riposte ocean-only and for mountains...?

100% agree on this. I have loved my ocean kender since the class came out, but it always felt like the shoot skill was an artifact of the unwillingness of a coder to put in extra work to give Oceans and Mts a relevant, flavorful replacement skill.

Also, shoot\fading cats in Balifor at rank 20 is one more pointless grind from which we could be saved.

Honestly, if the 'shoot' mechanic actually worked just by holding a bow and having arrows and assisting IN COMBAT, I would absolutely play a sky scout. But the way it is now, it's just not worth it to me. I loved the way rangers played back in the day and just assisting with a bow.  R.I.P Rangers :(

yeah that was a weird change.  it does feel super awkward to me now.  aim target and spam shoot and dont get area'd or else you have to fade out and repeat.  why?

Outside of combat you get full evade effectiveness while using shoot at least?
