Mend skill
« on: October 11, 2018, 11:44:10 PM »
help skill mend - the peak of his ablities a barbarian
can repair almost any item they come across.

Admittedly, I haven't tested it extensively, and my mend is at [excellent] not [superb]-  But I seem to only be able to mend a fraction of the items I come across, not even a lot of poor quality weapons and other gear from lower level zones.  And it doesn't seem like there's been much difference in what I'm able to mend between bad skill and excellent skill.  I'm increasingly suspicious that the 'almost any item' bit isn't going to turn out to be true.  Are my concerns valid?

Mend doesn't work on magic items, which prevents you from mending a lot of stuff.
And there's quite a jump from excellent to superb.

For reference, at superb you are as good as the Sanction smith.

Thanks for the info!  I'll keep grinding for that superb.

Any possibility the restriction on mending MAGIC might change in the future?  I can see an argument that inability to mend magic items sounds like it goes against the spirit of the mend skill, just based on the its skill description text.  Or if this was always the intent, mending 'almost any item' would imply there are relatively few magic items in the game.
