Nerf corpses and spirits
« on: March 11, 2018, 03:56:37 PM »
Instead of fixing the roots of the pk problem, the mud has gone for a simple and dirty solution of putting in a pk damage limit.  But this has fundamentally changed Arctic; it's simply not the same game I've been playing on and off since '95.  Moreover, the pk damage limit does not fix the pve imbalance; top-tier bosses are now so much easier to do.

IMHO, one of the roots of the pk problem, along with gear inflation (too many elite dam weapons and +dam gear without penalties), is the amount of damage done by pet corpses and spirits.  Why are corpses allowed to use weapons?  A mob dies, and as a corpse it suddenly becomes an expert in crossbows and starts annihilating?  Shaman spirits' damages need to be limited as well.  One- or two-person group with these pets way too deadly in pk.  They also obviate a fundamental concept of Arctic, of being a social game requiring group of people playing together to achieve goals.  Who needs tanks?
