rolled an evil lawful mino mountain scout.  Got it to 20, got my ass kicked by wolverine 3-4 times, gave up.
rolled an neutral lawful kender thief. Got it to 16, realized I hate neutrals because of the xp, gave up.
rolled a kago evil lawful thief.  Got it to 17, realized the stats suck compared to the kender, gave up. 
rolled an evil lawful kago shaman.  Got it to 17, realized I hate endlessly failing control, gave up.
rolled an evil lawful kago warrior.  At 15 now, still going ok.

I think the problem with the last 10 years of arctic administration and the main reason for its decline is the favoritism... every potential player should be the target market and immortals should be impartial. I feel like these days immortals prefer players that "kiss their ass" as opposed to players who tell them to "bapt off", however if you think deeply about it, its the players that tell you to "bapt off" who you should respect as they are being real with you. The players who kiss ass constantly do not respect you or probably even like you, they are kissing ass because they believe they will get a reward for that ass-kissing sooner or later. Morgion understood this, and he would abyss or delete people for brown-nosing, whining or crying. He was a sharp cookie.

Yes, leveling the playing field to encourage clans to get out and explore without the threat of a single clan acting as MUD overlords is soooo favoritism.

Even Morgion understood the need for peace and the town crime and punishment system, along with the PK boards were a great nod towards that.

The problem with arctic is the lack of communication between immortals and mortals.  And the lack of listening.  Imagine having a product where the manufacturer doesn't take any guidance from the feedback of the consumer.  Would that work well?  Well that is what arctic is.  A bunch of immortals who think they know best and go against the majority.  People clamoring for wipes about druids, group limits, etc. etc. etc.  I could go on and on and on about this.  But instead, they make ice storm focus for 20 dps a round LOL LOL LOL.  Honestly you can't even make this shit up!  And just like the real world, when products go bad because the lack of adaptation, it dies.  R I P.  Very sad.
