I remember long ago lightning storm used to be the pinnacle of druid might. You'd see logs of masters of nature just decimating their opponents with bolts from the heavens. Now I'd be hard pressed to mem it unless I really wanted to frag some gear or look cool in front of neutrals.
In its current state, lightning storm is an elusive spell that falls in a competitive circle... and also does terrible damage, frags gear, and is restrictive in its usage. The druid gods are crying.
Possible remedies to bring back the glory but not unbalance the spell:
*Up the damage, up the frag. Now you've got to choose between stoneskin, healing cloud, and top tier area damage.
*Move the spell to circle 3 or 4, lowering damage.
*Remove the spell completely and replace with conjure greater elemental, or tame beast charmie option. Fire snakes are weak sauce.
*Bring back that focused spell casting. That was a fun and dynamic option.
I'll leave you with these parting words,
"Return of the mac, one more timmme". Classic.
