Wipe Opening Time:

My plan is to open the game to mortals sometime between Noon and 1pm MST (Server time) on Friday.   This may slip based on my job, but shouldn't be later than 2pm MST under any circumstance.

Immortals level 31+ will all be allowed to login around 10am MST, but if you bother me too much expect some problems.


Some of the upcoming changes:

1.  prompt position added. 
-This will put the position of your character into your prompt.   [Pos: standing]

2. reserve command added to receptions.
-This command will allow you to set your rent location to that inn (provided you can rent there normally) without leaving the game.  Basically an easy way to reset your recall point.

3. opt lfg added.
-This will flag the character as looking for a group.  The option will be automatically turned off if you join a group. The option will not be set if you are already in a group.  Having the option on will negate opt anonymous, you can't be LFG and ANON at the same time.

4. who lfg | who looking
-Will list any players visible to you that have opt lfg turned on.  This should make finding groups slightly easier.

5. Dynamic rank mobs should regen slightly faster and have a slightly higher cap. Also the minimum level a mob can be before giving dynamic rank exp was lowered.
-These changes will make ranking at all levels slightly easier, but lower levels should get the brunt of the gains.

6. The experience required per level has been increased quite a bit across the board.
-It is going to take a lot more experience to reach 1 exp than it has for the last few wipes.  There are many reasons behind this change, but I am not planning to go into them right now.  I will answer specific questions if any intelligent ones are asked.

Yes!  Back to the old exp tables.   Actually this will make the game more intriguing and keep people from going from 1 to 30 in a few hours.

For those of us who love rolling... could we possibly just have our stats viewable at level 2 now? I think this change adds 20% more exp required to hit 3. The limiting factor for a lot of rolling already (to me anyway) is a lack of respawning mobs, and I feel this will affect rolling just a tiny bit in the wrong direction.

Yes I'm aware of in previous days having to hit level 6 on the old exp tables, but that's not where this game is at now.

Is this a typo or am I just hopelessly out of date? I was under the impression that server time was CST (GMT -6), not MST (GMT -7)

I should add that I really like the look of the lfg option...

Would be more sweet if there is a range next to the lfg tag, like

lvl 1 to 5 -> low
lvl 6 to 10 -> low-mid
lvl 11 to 15 -> mid -low
lvl 16 to 20 -> mid - high
lvl 21 to 25 -> high - low
lvl 26 + -> high

Server is on MST now.  All times are correct.

will it be harder to max out on xp mobs?  looking at that new xp table i worry about running out of stuff to kill at mid level.

I'm more concern about dying at lvl 30. You lose like 10Mill xp per death? Ouch.

I remember way back when, a level 8 cleric/druid would be much desired by a group of level 16-18 but the level 8 would decline and choose a level 5 xp partner instead because of the xp. More people below 26 means more people saying "you cant join our group because your are too small" and "i dont want to join your group because i am too small".

I struggle to imagine the pain and humiliation felt by those mid-level groups after being turned down by low-level casters.  Your story brings back difficult memories from a trying time; the injustice of years past suddenly feels so real.  Fortunately, much thought has been given to the matter, resulting in impressive strategies which enable low-level characters to gain XP effectively alongside mid-level groupmates. 

A bedrock principle involves having mid-level characters flee before mobs are killed.  Another benefit results from leaving lower-level group members alone to complete quests which reward XP.  Next wipe, hogging quest XP will become even more effective since the maximum XP per quest will be higher at any given level.   This reflects the substantially higher amount of XP you will need to advance.
