I wanted to capture group size feedback in a single thread. Please provide your feedback and encourage others to do the same. If you have an opinion, let it be known.

Would it be correct to assume that the larger the group size is, the weaker the average character will be?

If the shrinking is commensurate with an increase in individual power i'd prefer small groups.  If the current changes remain I'd prefer large groups...

we want 12 man groups at the start of each wipe when 50+ people are playing.  then in 3 months when half the people have quit, we would like max group size to change to 6 with each player doubling in power.

thank you.

I voted for 10, only because 12 wasn't available.  12.

How can this question really be answered?  A key idea when optimizing a system is "only change on variable at a time" so that the effects of changes can be accurately assessed.  I am not sure any non-staff have a clear understanding of where the player and gear nerfs are going to end (and what adjustment if any there may also be to mobs) so how can we guess at the best group size?

I've been playing Arctic for 10+ years, made an account today just to vote on this.

There's only one clan who even rolls with 10man groups anymore, what's the point? Smaller groups force players to actually know their job/class and pay attention to what's going on in the game - is that such a bad thing?

6 man FTW

You are totally wrong. Only because you have no more than 5 friends doesnt mean that others should quit the game.

So you either zerg everything easymode, or quit the game? no middle ground at all? you aren't even willing to try to split your steamroller group into 2 groups of 5?

group limit should decrease with the playerbase imo.

On my end I have only seen positive effects from the lowering of group limits.

Also i think it reduces active bots.

I think it has helped form more groups all in all.

You can say well it made everybody quit,  but everybody quits anyway.

The last 2 years people quit so fast regardless of group size

I think a 5-8man should be considered the norm.  8 for end game zones

Also later in wipe when the logins is down to 15 players and 10 of them will be in large clan group.  then u will see the 10man group forcing the other remaining 3-6 players to quit because lack of people to group and lack of overall activity.

Though I don't think its possible with the current staff numbers to implement, a game mechanic that allowed a setting of your group to a max of 6, 8, or 10 would be amazing.

When leveling, steamrolling with a huge group is discouraged by built in game mechanics- xp being split makes it more efficient to run with a smaller group. I wonder if dividing rank XP by group members would have a similar effect, and encourage players to run smaller groups.

I think that would be great
